The Hopewell Valley Arts Council and Chez Alice are excited to offer a plein air watercolor workshop series at Strawberry Mansion on Baldpate Mountain this fall. For three consecutive Thursdays — September 27, October 4 and 11 — from 5:30-7:30pm,* enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and mountains and enhance your appreciation of watercolor painting with professional artist, Barbara DiLorenzo, while learning techniques in watercolor painting. The program is generously supported by Chez Alice Catering Company which will be donating their profits for the event back into HV Arts Council’s amazing programing and events. $45/per class and $125 for all three.
Attend one, two or all three workshops to refine your skills in watercolor painting lead by Hopewell artist Barbara DiLorenzo, author and illustrator who received her BFA in illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design and studied painting at the Art Students League of New York under Mary Beth McKenzie. In 2014, she received the Dorothy Markinko Scholarship Award from the Rutgers University Council on Children’s Literature. She is a signature member in the New England Watercolor Society as well as the Society of Illustrators. DiLorenzo teaches art courses in our area and is co-president of the Children’s Book Illustrators Group of New York. Barbara is represented by Rachel Orr of the Prospect Agency.
Hors d’oeuvres boxes are available for pre-purchase to enjoy while painting — a variety of fresh fruits with crackers created by Chez Alice Catering Company.
Please place your order prior to each workshop. Boxes are $12/box. Order ahead by emailing: email@example.com or call (609) 737-1199.
