Peace Pole

by Girl Scout Troop 70190

Design Statement

Hopewell Valley Girl Scouts Brownie Troop 70190 designed a Peace Pole to encourage peace throughout the world. The Peace Pole is a traditional Girl Scout project and it perfectly meshed with vision of the Art Spires. The girls of the troop picked a tie dye background theme to represent the peace movement of the 1960’s and the word for “Peace” is represented in the languages spoken by the girls in the troop and their backgrounds. The languages include English, Hungarian, Italian, Gaelic, Spanish, Danish, and Chinese.
