Walk a Mile in His Shoes
by Kate PollackDesign Statement
The rope wound around this spire is meant to simulate shoelaces. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020, walking and hiking have become one of the only available pastimes. In the following months of civil unrest beginning with the death of George Floyd, the “shoelaces” are meant to urge the viewer to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes.
