Sew Upcycle
by Janneke VanderreeDesign Statement
Sewing is fun, colorful, artistic and relaxing. Always putting my black and white stripe in my quilts, it made its way onto the spire. Even sewing machines “die” but have a great second life as an art object. With a little wink to Piet Mondrian, the Dutch painter, I tried to include some art influence from the Netherlands.
Materials: Acrylic paint with sewing related found and saved objects.
Dimensions: 5″ x 5″ x 41″
Map/Spire Number: 20
Location: Near the Pennington Post Office
Address: Bromel Place & Knowles Street
