Just Wing It
by Team Birds of a FeatherDesign Statement
This bas relief design combines the talents of both artists:
Janis is a stone carver and Kit is a painter and sculptor.
The Title, ‘Just Wing It’, reflects the subject birds, but also illustrates the creative process. What started with a very planned, constrained and repetitive structure ended with a looser and more free-form design. Their combined creativity took flight on the wings of birds in the final design.

About the Artists
Janis and Kit met as volunteers at HomeFront’s ArtJam 2019 and worked together again at HomeFront’s Holiday Market.
They both practice QiGong everyday through Zoom calls since the start of the pandemic in March.
Working on the spire together has been a good distraction and an opportunity to share in creating art that makes their spirits soar.
