Please join the Hopewell Valley Arts Council for a celebration of the arts on Howe Commons at the annual Pennington Day street fair.
In keeping with the theme of this year’s event, Street Play ’15 – Urban Meets Rural, we will be featuring a fun combination of artful experiences.
- Mural Painting – On the main stage we are featuring Leon Rainbow, painting a large, colorful mural depicting rural images using a city-art style. He will paint an 8 x 16’ mural. While the eventual location of the mural has not yet been established, it will stay at Howe Commons for a few weeks with Leon’s bio and explanatory signage.
- Blue Grass Music – The 5-piece blue grass band “Bluewave Ramblers” will play on the music stage nearby from 11:30 to 2:30.
- Art Walk – Sixteen artists will be displaying their work on display boards or tables with pop-up tents. Many are our beloved Stampede artists. Come and say “hello” to: Terry Anderson, Kristen Birdsey, Connie MacIndoe, Amanda Bradshaw, Linda Bradshaw, Morris Docktor, Kate Eggleston, Susan Ewart, Dennis Foy, Gyuri Hollosy, Diane Lufrano, Mary Michaels, George Olexa, Nancy Stark, Patricia Tatoro, Jenn Villareale.
In addition, the Hopewell Valley Arts Council’s ox, ArtToro, will be there on his cart and we will have an information table under a tent. Here’s where you can meet our New Executive Director, David Miller, learn about upcoming HV Arts Council Events, and help us gather some Amazing Pumpkin Carvers for a fall event not to be missed.
We look forward to seeing you at Pennington’s favorite day!
