P
aint a Power Stick and Become Part of a Community Art Project
Saturday, June 18, 2016 – 4 to 7 pm
St. Michaels Farm Preserve
Hopewell-Princeton Road, Hopewell NJ
Hopewell’s 125th Anniversary will be throwing the “event of the summer” on Saturday, June 18. And the Hopewell Valley Arts Council will be there.
As part of the Hopewell Community Day Music Festival, the Hopewell Valley Arts Council will be doing a craft activity, appropriate for all ages, called Power Sticks.
Painted power sticks were often used in tribal celebrations for decoration and story telling. So, we’re inviting everyone to stop by our table to paint a stick. (We’ll even provide the sticks.)
We’ll then add your individual work of art to a group art installation that will be displayed at a future community event. This collaborative, powerful stick sculpture will commemorate our “Hopewell Tribe” during Hopewell Borough’s 125th Anniversary.
Stop by our table on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 4-7pm to contribute your inspired creation to our community art project.
