Capital Health’s Arts & Healing Committee and the Hopewell Valley Art Council present “Compassion, Kindness & Artistry.”

Newtown Quilters Guild (NQ) began in June of 1989, when a group of ten friends gathered together for an evening of sewing and socializing. This was the beginning of a month “stitch ‘n sew” that would be held in various Bucks County homes. As word spread and more joined this group, quilting was the one craft that interested everyone. By November of that year, the group numbered 33 and quickly outgrew family rooms. Since then, the NQG devised its name, logo and weathered various moves as the membership grew to 100 with members coming from Bucks County, Montgomery County, Philadelphia and New Jersey. Through our work, we share our love of quilt making, as well as life’s joys and struggles We reach out to others by providing the warmth and comfort of a quilt through our philanthropic work, including: Quilt for Kids, Quilts of Valor, Camp Erin, Story Book Quilts, the Patriot Program at Capital Health, Project Linus Crayon Quilts – Children Helping Children, and much more.
