Calling all artists and creative community members. The HV Arts Council is seeking individuals and groups to decorate wood “spires” for Out of the Ashes: Art Emerging from Fallen Trees, to commemorate the loss of our beautiful native ash trees due to the emerald ash borer beetle. Fallen ash wood will be transformed into art, then pop up again around the Hopewell Valley this summer.
Participants can be enthusiastic individuals, teams, or families. Unfinished ash wood spires will be available in two sizes: 5 inch square x 6 feet and 8 inch square x 8 feet. Full ash trunks have been reserved for experienced woodworkers with the ability to safely handle extremely heavy wood.
Let your creativity shine! Attend our online community information session for an overview of the project and participation guidelines with a live Q&A session.
